The Scream of the Monsters at SteelPark | Workshop
What does a proper monster scream, a spooky howl, or the rumbling of a bell sound like? On Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., the SteelPark science playground will transform into a monster university, where young explorers will set out into a world of sounds, vibrations, and unusual acoustic phenomena.
During the “Monster Screams” workshop, participants will become students at an unconventional school where, instead of traditional subjects, they’ll explore screams, wails, and spooky sounds. Through playful experiments, they’ll discover how sound is produced, how it travels, and what role the human ear plays in perceiving it.
They’ll visualize sound vibrations, hear the unusual ringing of an ordinary spoon, howl using a bottle, and discover tones on a glass. They’ll try out how sound can be altered using simple objects and how everyday items can become unexpected musical instruments.
One of the biggest surprises will come from an experiment with sound in a vacuum. What happens when a ringing stopwatch is left without air? This experiment, too, will reveal an interesting secret of physics and show that sound needs a suitable environment to travel.
The “Monsters’ Scream” workshop combines imagination, fun, and hands-on discovery. Young students will learn that even a proper monster scream can be a great opportunity to explore science.
