The Voice of Christmas Martin Chodur's Christmas Concert

The Voice of Christmas is a new concert project by Martin Chodúr, created especially for the Advent and Christmas season. The Christmas recital with piano, string quartet and transverse flute accompaniment brings listeners a unique musical evening that combines festive atmosphere, strong emotions and high quality of performance. The programme offers a wide selection of compositions connected with the theme of Christmas - from well-known Czech and Slovak melodies to world Christmas classics.

There will be well-known Christmas pop hits, jazz songs and traditional black gospel, processed in an original and inventive arrangement, which highlights the exceptional colour of Martin Chodur's voice and the subtlety of the acoustic accompaniment. The repertoire includes White Christmas, Down by the Riverside, Hallelujah, The Christmas Bell and more. The repertoire draws on the legacy of the greatest performers of the 20th century and emphasises the melodiousness, vocal expression and festive atmosphere inherent in Christmas.

The musical accompaniment consists of first-class players from the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, whose chamber arrangements sensitively underline the character of the individual compositions. The length of the concert is 90 minutes - we look forward to seeing you at the Voice of Christmas.
