Watching with Mareena: Festival of Lights

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the largest and most important Hindu

festivals. It celebrates the victory of good over evil and the arrival of light into our lives. During

five days, homes are traditionally decorated with lamps, sweets are prepared, and families gather

to celebrate together.

The Mareena Civic Association, in collaboration with Tabačka, the Indian community in Košice, and

the Embassy of India, invites you to a community Diwali celebration, full of Indian food,

traditions, and lights. You can look forward to a cultural program, dancing, music, henna, rangoli, and

other activities that will help you discover Indian traditions and meet the people who have

to us here in Košice.
